Gill Thackray

Gill Thackray is a performance psychologist, author, coach and regular conference speaker. Gill’s areas of expertise are in the application of psychology and sustainable high performance. She is the author of “The Positivity coach” and “The Mindfulness Coach” due December 2020, published by Michael O’Mara Books, London.

Gill has successfully worked with hundreds of Fortune 100 companies to improve performance, innovation and strategy over the last twenty years. In that time Gill has supported a wide variety  of  organisations to optimise performance ranging from the likes of global organisations (KPMG, Spotify, Deloitte, United Nations, Institute for Chartered Accountants England and Wales, Ernst and Young, Price Waterhouse Cooper, & Cafe Nero) to national and international non-profits (UK Sport, the V & A Museum, International Planned Parenting, Shelter The National Campaign Against Homelessness, & the Natural History Museum) universities (Lancaster University, British School of Osteopathy, CHE Cambodia, Goldsmiths, London School of Economics) and a number of successful start-ups along with Government Bodies (UK Central Government, Kenyan Ministry of Tourism, Nigerian Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Communications Pakistan, United Nations Iraq, UK Local Government Association).

Gill is our resident expert on resilience in the workplace and has worked with a number of high profile organizations to embed resilience into working practices, increasing employee wellbeing & optimising focus and performance. She is a regular contributor on psychology, leadership, resilience, wellbeing, performance and mindfulness for international publications including The Guardian, Thrive Global, HR Zone, Stylist and Success Magazine. 

She has an MSc in Mindfulness Studies. She is a qualified mindfulness teacher, adhering to the UK Mindfulness Good Practice Guidelines and is a registered teacher on the UK Mindfulness Teachers List as well as being professionally accredited by the International Mindfulness Teachers Association.

She is a member of the Association of Business Psychologists, Institute of Leadership and Management, British Neuroscience Association and Chartered Institute of Personnel Development.

Gill’s other great passion is writing. She is currently completing her first novel. In her spare time Gill runs a small trust that supports refugees on the Thailand/Burma border. She divides her time between the UK Lake District, London and Paris.
