Hot off the press!
Compassionate Healthcare is here! We’re really excited to be working in partnership with the NHS on a brand new caring with compassion program. The course combines some of our favourite topics; compassion, mindfulness and neuroscience so you can see why we’re so excited! But what does compassion in the health service look like?
What is compassionate healthcare?
Our new course combines compassion concepts and compassion behaviours alongside resilience, emotional intelligence and contemplative science. It’s almost impossible to talk about building a compassionate workplace without talking about self compassion. It’s always our starting point. When healthcare professionals are stretched and under increasing pressure, wellbeing is often the first thing to suffer, so it makes sense to start there. So what does self compassion look like?
Dr Kristen Neff’s 3 Elements of Self Compassion
Compassion researcher Kristen Neff has identified 3 elements of self compassion; self kindness, sense of common humanity and mindfulness. On our course we export this and other models of compassion along with practical strategies, tips and tools to build a caring and compassionate culture.
