Running shoes at the ready
We’re super excited to have entered the Great North Run 2017 – the largest half marathon in the world! We’ve already begun our training schedule and you can follow our progress on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
We’re using positive psychology to get us across the finish line
Natural born runners? If you know us personally, you’ll know that we’re not super athletes, although we’ve both completed a number of marathons and half-marathons in the past, it’s been a while (!) so we’re excited to have this event to inspire our efforts. Week by week you can see which tools and techniques we’re using from positive psychology to help us cross that finish line.
Sharing the love
Positive psychology tip no. 1: Maximise motivation by linking your goal to your values. We know, from a huge body of research, that integrating your values with goals has a powerful impact on motivation. So, we’ll be running for two great causes that really make a difference. Viv is running for the charity Guide Dogs and Gill is running for Koru Trust. If you’re also taking part let’s hook up, join us along the way or after to celebrate!
Where will we be training?
A lot of our training will take place in the UK but PCG will be working around the world in the months leading up to the Great North Run, which takes place on 10th September 2017. We’ll be grabbing every opportunity to run in each country we visit, see if you can spot which countries we’re in as we post our pavement pounding pics.
